Behavioral Pain Management
Chronic pain is pain that lasts more than 6 months. Behavioral management of chronic pain is offered by Dr. Bergner.

Mental health for chronic pain involves managing the significant psychological toll—like anxiety, depression, and stress—that pain causes. Treatment involves learning techniques that aim to alter pain perception, improve coping, allow for valued living, and reduce pain flares.
Evidence based services for coping with chronic illness include:
-Cognitive behavioral therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP): Typically ranges from 12 - 20 weekly sessions.
-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Typically ranges from 12 - 20 weekly sessions.
-Mindfulness Based Therapy: Typically ranges from 8 - 20 weekly sessions.
*More sessions can be added as desired and clinically appropriate.
