Behavioral Weight Management & Disordered Eating
Services are offered for patients who want to manage their weight, manage disordered eating tendencies, and address their eating behaviors. Dr. Bergner has expertise in treating emotional eating, stress eating, food coping, and eating due to boredom.

Mental health management is crucial for weight management because psychological factors like stress, emotions, self-esteem, and negative thought patterns drive eating behaviors. You need to understand the 'why' behind your eating, not just 'what' you eat. This makes therapy essential to weight and eating behavior management. Therapy aims to support you as you change eating habits and manage cravings. Therapy may focus on building additional coping skills, addressing underlying psychological issues, exploring body image concerns, setting realistic goals, and supporting sustainable lifestyle changes.
Dr. Bergner can treat binge eating and purging disorders; she cannot treat anorexia nervosa.
